Edmonton Intergroup Reports, Bylaws, and Operating Procedures

Welcome Intergroup Representatives

The purpose of the Edmonton Intergroup Committee is to Provide Service Activities

Intergroup Representative Service Description

The responsibility for maintaining the existence of Edmonton Intergroup (EI) rests with the groups located in Edmonton and the surrounding districts of Area 78 of Alcoholics Anonymous.  The districts whose groups have elected to support EI are Districts 10, 12, 40, 46, 53, 55, 57, 60, 61, and 64. Therefore, each AA group in these districts should name an Intergroup Representative (IGR) and an Alternate (Alt-IGR) to serve a specified term as the connecting link between their group and EI.

What Is An Intergroup Representative?

An Intergroup Representative is the individual link between the EI committee and the supporting group who:

  • helps direct the actions of EI and its primary purpose of carrying the message of recovery to the community,
  • brings their “Group Conscience” to the Edmonton Intergroup committee, and
  • serves as a liaison between their group, its members, and the larger EI community

*Note: An Intergroup Rep is the link between the group and Edmonton Intergroup whereas a General Service Rep is the link between a group and AA as a whole.
